ABOUT CAMP AURORA
Camp Aurora is a four-day subsidized summer camp for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies. Youth ages 14-19 are welcome to apply. We have a beautiful spot up in the Whiteshell Provincial Park, thanks to Variety, the Children's Charity of Manitoba. Our hope is that you will meet some new friends, try some new things, learn about yourself and your community, and have fun along the way.
A chance to be yourself.. truly!
Let’s face it, being an 2SLGBTQ+ youth or ally can be tough. At Camp Aurora, that part of your day-to-day is forgotten. You can be yourself… all day long. You will feel accepted, supported and welcomed. We’ve been there, we get it, and we think a camp like this is an important experience for youth. The goal is to give you the best summer camp experience, in a place that is safe and supportive.
What do we do at camp?
Camp Aurora offers the typical summer camp experience in a positive and supportive encironment! There will be canoeing, swimming, crafts, a talent show, drag performances, a dance, adventures, campfires, bunk beds, hot dogs and s’mores. It is camp, just how you would picture it, but you will be in the company of your peers and allies in an inclusive space.
If this all sounds like something you want to be doing this summer, it is time to get registered! Try not to take too long because the spots at camp can fill up pretty quick.

We are also looking for Cabin Leaders!
These wonderful folks will be the mentors and positive role models around camp, helping to plan activities, share ideas, and provide peer support to campers. If you are between the ages 20-34 and looking to build your leadership skills, you should definitely apply. The Cabin Leaders are an extremely valuable part of camp. Don’t worry, if you think you might not be ready, we do some training before camp to bring out the best leadership skills you’ve got.
